Citizenship & Naturalization

If you are interested in citizenship and naturalization or have a loved one pursuing the dream of becoming a U.S. citizen, you need comprehensive and up-to-date legal guidance from a skilled immigration attorney.

The laws surrounding citizenship and naturalization can be complicated and time-consuming. At Ruiz Law, the attorneys can explain the process and guide you toward becoming an American citizen.

Family Petitions

If you are a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR), this is the first step in helping an eligible relative who wishes to come to or remain in the U.S. permanently and get a Permanent Resident Card (also called a Green Card). We understand the importance of family. No one wants to be separated from their loved ones. Attorney Ruiz helps prevent or minimize separation of families. We assist families with petitions filed by U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents for their qualifying family members here and abroad.

Permanent Residence

U.S. immigration laws provide a variety of ways for people to apply for a Green Card. You may be eligible to apply for a Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) through your family, a job offer or employment, refugee or asylum status, or a number of other special provisions. Someone else usually must file the petition for you (often referred to as sponsoring or petitioning for you), although you may be eligible to file for yourself in some cases. We assist those who are eligible for adjustment to do so accurately and efficiently.

Removal Defense

Removal defense involves representing and advocating for immigrants facing deportation from the United States. For many immigrants facing removal from the United States, the process involves appearing before an immigration judge in immigration court. Sadly, legal representation is the single most important factor in determining whether someone will win or lose their case. The deportation process can be extremely difficult, emotionally complex and frustrating. With the assistance of experienced and committed immigration attorneys from Ruiz Law, you can equip yourself or your family member with the support and aggressive advocacy of a proven deportation defense legal team.

Humanitarian Visas

Here at Ruiz Law, we passionately fight for the rights of immigrant victims. We assist our clients in seeking protection under U.S. law. Attorney Ruiz can help with asylum, withholding of removal, convention against torture claims, as well as visas for victims of crime and human trafficking. We take these cases seriously and treat them with the privacy and compassion they deserve.

Waivers

If you are inadmissible to the United States and are seeking an immigrant visa, adjustment of status, certain nonimmigrant statuses, or certain other immigration benefits, you must file a waiver of certain grounds of inadmissibility (for example, waivers for unlawful presence in the United States or for certain crimes).

We Focus on Immigration Law

Here at Ruiz Law, we understand that the immigration process can be daunting. It is complex and lengthy, and every single case is different. That is why our attorneys and staff take the time to listen to your story to create a case strategy that is individualized to you. We offer a unique level of personalized service that larger firms can’t provide. Here, you will find the help you need and deserve to navigate your immigration case with confidence.
